Since I’ve had my studio at Marlay Park in Rathfarnham, the gardeners have made the areas around the courtyard where the shops and studios are located so beautiful with new planting schemes, new borders and groves of sliver birch trees. On the way to Bolands coffee shop, a new pathway was made and its borders were lined with masses of daffodils. In early spring, when the trees still look wintery, you can see all the way to the pale blue distant hills of the Dublin mountains. It’s so enchanting.
