This scene was painted in the grounds of Powerscourt where there is a private walk along the river Dargle. The water when the light hits it looks golden brown due to the high levels of iron ore in the soil. It is the prettiest walk I know for the oldes oak trees that dwell on the river bank and recently on Nationwide they did a feature on the Cedar trees in the forest remarking how they are the some of the largest in the world.
