The studio is open to the public between 12 and 3pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. As it is a working studio it may often be in a state of disarray, but usually we try to keep it tidy, especially at Christmas! Thanks for your understanding.

Award-winning artist Kate Bedell’s paintings are informed by the natural world of her environment. She creates sensitive and expressive paintings in watercolour of the parkland where her studio is located in Marlay Park. She draws her inspiration from the changing light of the landscape and from the intricate shapes and colours of flowers from the walled garden and the newly-planted cottage garden at Laurelmere Lodge. Through her impressionist style Kate strives to achieve the essence of a scene which connects us to the beauty of the world.

Kate’s studio is in a historical part of the old courtyard stables of Marlay House in Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, which dates back to 1764. The room used to be home to Evie Hone (1896-1955) Irish painter and stained glass artist.

Kate also exhibits every Sunday (weather permitting) at the People’s Park in Dún Laoghaire.
